2010 Songwriting Contest
Official Rules & Details
IMPORTANT DATES:
Submissions Open: February 1, 2010
Submissions Close: April 1, 2010
Finalists Announced: May 1, 2010
Finals show: winners chosen: May 23, 2010
WHAT DOES IT COST TO SUBMIT: $12
HOW MANY SONGS CAN I SUBMIT: As many as you like.
Each song is a separate submission.
WHO MAY SUBMIT:
- Any performing songwriter regardless of their level of expertise-
beginner thru professional
- Any genre may be performed
- This can include instrumental songwriters as long as they will
also be the live performers
WHO MAY NOT SUBMIT:
- 2008 / 2009 winners of Philadelphia Songwriters Project Songwriting
Contests.
This does not include semi-finalists of either year
-Any artist playing another high profile PSP show during the 2010
year
- Non- performing songwriters
CRITERIA FOR JUDGING:
Songs will be judged in the following categories:
Lyric, Music, Originality, Presentation
JUDGES:
Celebrity Judges include:
Craig Bickhardt: Platinum and Grammy award winning
songwriter
Jah Levi: Producer, reggae and world fusion artist
based in San Francisco.
Nancy Falkow: Singer-Songwriter, teacher,vocal
arranger, touring artist

MEMBERSHIP IN THE SONGWRITERS PROJECT:
The Songwriters Project is a non-profit arts and education organization
therefore we encourage membership. Please note, membership
is NOT a requirement to enter the contest.
As a benefit however, new members will receive (2) free song submissions
to the contest.
HOW TO SUBMIT:

Use the following protocol for submission.
Payment on-line via PayPal.
Click Buy Now Button (below)
Pay for your submission (s) (1 or more songs)
After you have paid for your submission on line. Send an email with
the following information:

NOT SEND MP3 FILES to email address
If you DO NOT have the ability to submit on-line you may mail your
submission to:
PO BOX 770 Ardmore, PA 19003. Checks made out to The Philadelphia
Songwriters Project.
Complete contact information must be included with CD (name, complete
address, phone, email).
Send no other press materials. Received by April 1, 2010.

2010 THEME: “Its All About Love!”
Be creative! This means all kinds of love: for a child, a friend,
a pet, a place, your mom, God, a lover past or present. Love here
now, long ago and far away, wished for, or love gone astray. Whether
it be a ballad, dance tune, chant or shanty, we want to hear your
emotion expressed musically and lyrically… anything goes.

PRINT
- Winners must be available to play at all performance opportunities
to qualify
- Artists are responsible for all travel expenses incurred to performance
opportunities
- Semi-finalist and Winners agree to promote The Philadelphia Songwriters
Project, the contest results, and performances via Top Friending,
Links, Logos, on artist website and blogs through their network
of fans/friends.
- Additional Prizes may be added. Please check the website for updated
